AMD EPYC 75F3 2.95GHz 32 Core 256MB 280W 3rd Gen Processor | Dell Locked 100-000000313
The AMD EPYC 75F3 is a 32-core, 64-thread server processor from the AMD EPYC 7003 Series, AMD tray part number 100-000000313. This unit is Dell-locked, so it is a processor for Dell PowerEdge servers. Dell lists the 75F3 among the supported processors for the PowerEdge R6525, R7525, R6515, R7515 and XE8545.
Clocks, cache and power
The 75F3 has a 2.95GHz base clock, a maximum boost clock of up to 4.0GHz and 256MB of L3 cache. Its default TDP is 280W, with a configurable TDP range of 225W to 280W.
Memory and PCIe
Eight DDR4 memory channels run at up to 3200 MT/s, for 204.8 GB/s of memory bandwidth per socket. AMD quotes up to 4TB of DDR4-3200 ECC memory across 16 DIMM slots for the EPYC 7003 Series. The processor provides 128 lanes of PCIe 4.0.
Cooling a 280W processor in Dell servers
Dell’s PowerEdge R6525 technical guide lists the L-type heatsink for processor 1 at 180W and above, and requires DIMM blanks in empty memory slots when a 280W processor is installed. With air cooling, the same guide supports the 75F3 only in some drive and rear-slot configurations, using very-high-performance (VHP) fans at up to 30°C ambient. The R7515 guide likewise calls for memory module blanks in unpopulated sockets with a 280W processor.
Socket, launch and locking
The 75F3 fits socket SP3 and is supported in one-socket and two-socket systems. AMD launched it on March 15, 2021, and lists AMD Infinity Guard and AMD Infinity Architecture among its supported technologies. On Dell systems, enabling AMD Platform Secure Boot (PSB) permanently fuses the processor so that it works only on Dell platforms.
Workloads AMD targets
AMD names EDA, HCI, high-performance VM density, per-core CAE, CFD and FEA, and VDI as the workloads for this model.
