800GB Enterprise SSDs

This page lists 800GB enterprise SSDs with SAS, SATA and NVMe interfaces from Dell, HPE, Intel and Cisco, and most are rated for heavier write workloads (MU or WI in the listing name), because 800GB is a capacity step from the higher-endurance side of the SSD range. Choose the interface your controller and drive bays support before you compare part numbers. Each 800GB drive is tested at intake and retested before dispatch.

Why an enterprise SSD reads 800GB

800GB sits on the higher-endurance capacity ladder: it doubles to the 1.6TB, 3.2TB and 6.4TB sizes of Kioxia's 3 DWPD PM7-V, while Kioxia's 1 DWPD PM7-R comes in 1.92TB, 3.84TB and larger. Seagate explains the gap: over-provisioning sets aside part of an SSD's capacity where the user cannot reach it, which Seagate credits with longer endurance, and its own example turns a 128GB drive into a 100GB one. Most drives here carry an MU or WI label in their names; our SSD endurance-class guide explains MU, WI and RI, and DWPD vs TBW explains drive-life ratings.

Bays differ by chassis, so check yours: Dell's PowerEdge R650, for example, takes SAS, SATA or NVMe drives in its 8- and 10-bay 2.5-inch layouts but SAS and SATA only in its 4 x 3.5-inch layout. Interface pages: NVMe SSDs, SAS SSDs, SATA SSDs. All capacities: enterprise SSDs.

Other capacities: 960GB, 1.92TB and 3.84TB enterprise SSDs; 2.5-inch NVMe drives are grouped under U.2 NVMe SSDs.
