Dell PowerEdge R620 Riser 1 Card
Enterasource is proud to present a Riser 1 card for the Dell PowerEdge R620. Risers are normally bought against a slot map — which PCIe slots the riser presents, at what lane width, fed from which processor — and for this platform we could not obtain one. This page says what is established, names what is not, and explains why.
Why There Is No Slot Map on This Page
Dell's service manuals for 12th-generation PowerEdge platforms are not reachable at any documented path. We tried six — three service-manual conventions, an escaped-character variant and two legacy direct paths — and all failed.
Crucially, we ran a control probe in the same session: the same document ladder resolved on its first rung for two later PowerEdge platforms. So this is genuine delisting of the 12th-generation documentation, not a mis-built lookup on our side. The service-manual convention that resolves for later platforms post-dates this generation.
Rather than describe an R620 riser from a later platform's riser tables — which would be a plausible-looking guess about slot count and lane width — we publish nothing about those.
What Is Certain
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Platform | Dell PowerEdge R620 (12th generation, 1U) |
| Riser position | Riser 1 |
| Slots presented, lane width, card height, processor feed | Not established |
How to Buy This Confidently
Match on the Dell part number. If your R620's service record, a parts list or the riser you are replacing names 37RG8, then this is that part and the missing slot map does not affect you.
If you are working the other way — trying to establish which riser your machine needs — the riser currently fitted carries a Dell part number on the board, and that number is the reliable match. Ask us before ordering if the slot configuration matters and we will read it from the unit.
Two General Riser Rules That Do Apply
Neither depends on the missing document, and both catch buyers regularly:
- Riser positions are not interchangeable. A Riser 1 and a Riser 2 for the same platform are different parts with different connectors and different mechanical envelopes.
- Riser lettering and numbering do not cross platform generations. A riser from a 13th- or 14th-generation PowerEdge with a similar designation is a different platform's part, and matching on slot count is not a compatibility check.
Important Notice: this is the riser assembly only. It does not include expansion cards, filler brackets or cabling, and its slot configuration is not confirmed on this page. Every unit is tested before it ships and is covered by the Enterasource warranty shown on this page.
