Dell Cooling Fan for PowerEdge R620 and R630: One Part Across Two Generations
Enterasource is proud to present the Dell 89M11, a hot-swap cooling fan recorded for the PowerEdge R620 and R630. Those are Dell's 1U dual-socket servers from two consecutive generations, and a single fan part spanning both is worth pointing out because it is not the usual pattern.
Generational Continuity in the Fan Bank
Dell changed a great deal between the R620 and the R630 — processors, memory, storage architecture, management. The fan bay geometry did not change enough to require a new fan, so the part carried over. That is convenient when you are servicing a mixed estate, and it is also the kind of fact worth confirming rather than assuming, because the next generation on either side does not necessarily continue it.
Fitment
Our inventory record holds this fan for the R620 and R630. That is our own record and not a Dell compatibility document. Our record does not mark a cooling grade for this part, so where a configuration calls for a specific grade, confirm the requirement in the platform's own service documentation rather than reading grade into the description.
Important Notice: a single fan module. A 1U fan bank works as a set, and a bay left empty defeats the airflow path as surely as a failed fan does. Checked before it ships, with the Enterasource warranty as published here.
