Dell Standard Fan Module for PowerEdge R750, R750xs, R7525, R760 and R760xs: The Baseline Cooling Grade
Enterasource is proud to present the Dell JF857, the standard-grade hot-swap fan module for five 15th- and 16th-generation PowerEdge 2U platforms. Standard is the base grade in Dell's cooling ladder; the silver and gold high-performance fans sit above it. This module is the correct part for a configuration whose thermal requirement is met at the standard grade, and it is the wrong part for one that is not.
The Substitution That Looks Harmless
Standard and high-performance fans for these platforms share a form factor and a bay. They are not interchangeable in the direction that matters. Dell specifies cooling by grade against configuration, so a machine with high thermal-design-power processors, a rear drive bay or an accelerator can require the high-performance grade outright. Fitting standard fans in that machine is a supported-looking build that is outside Dell's own thermal specification. The reverse substitution — high performance where standard suffices — is not a fitment error.
Fitment
Our inventory record names this module for the R750, R750xs, R7525, R760 and R760xs. That is our record, not a Dell compatibility document; the required grade for your specific configuration is settled in the thermal restriction section of your platform's Installation and Service Manual.
Important Notice: this is one fan module, not a fan cage and not a full set. This module is checked before dispatch and carries the Enterasource warranty set out on this page.
