Dell Cooling Fan Cage for PowerEdge R750, R7525 and XE8545: The Assembly That Comes Out First
Enterasource is proud to present the Dell P64K4, the cooling fan cage recorded for the PowerEdge R750, R7525 and XE8545. It is the structural assembly that holds the hot-swap fans across the width of the chassis, and on a 2U server it is also the thing standing between a technician and everything else.
Damaged by Work That Was Not About Cooling
Reaching the board, the risers, the memory or the cable runs on these platforms generally means lifting the fan cage out first. It goes in and out on every substantial service visit, it is a large moulding with latches at both ends, and it takes the wear. A cracked mount or a sprung latch is far more often the residue of past maintenance than the result of a cooling fault. The symptom is a fan that reports intermittently or reads a wrong speed, because the module is sitting fractionally off its connector rather than because the module has failed.
Fitment
Our inventory record names this cage for the R750, R7525 and XE8545. That is our own record and it spans general-purpose and accelerator platforms of the same generation.
Important Notice: cage only; no fans included. Examined for cracks and latch condition before dispatch, under the Enterasource warranty published here.
